 It all started when I was a little girl craving to hang out in haberdashery stores wanting fabrics and tapestries for my birthday. That’s how dreams start.My dream was to have my own fashion label, and by the time I reached 14 I did my first range for a store in my hometown of Port Macquarie. I then studied garment production and moved to Sydney and had an excellent position as a design assistant for Seafolly Australia. My first label Jipsy Bells was a 7 year journey, opening my first store filled with my own earthy lace creations. I had so much creative enjoyment from this I decided to go on a worldly adventure to piece it all together. A girl needs worldly inspiration in the fashion world, so I hit the streets of 25 countries in the name of research, without knowing where exactly I was going with all this. I found myself in India, entrenched in the textile world. I created a small range there and found a deep connection with the people, the culture and the textile industry. Upon my return not just with a range but with a Canadian husband, we started dreaming of The Shanti Butterfly.
